Vermiculite is one of the basic raw materials that PULL processes into customer-specific semi- and finished products. Vermiculite is inorganic, imperishable, non-flammable, sterile, insoluble in water, non-perishable, fibre-free, insensitive to temperature changes, resistant to acids, chemically neutral, odourless, resistant to vermin, mould, or fungus, and is not electrically conductive.

As the above properties suggest: the application possibilities are numerous. Our vermiculite comes with an asbestos-free certificate. In addition, it has a certificate to serve as an additive in organic agriculture and horticulture. We are happy to tell you all about it or request a quote.

What is vermiculite?

Vermiculite is the geological name given to a group of hydrated laminar minerals which are aluminum-iron-magnesium silicates. Exfoliated vermiculite is used in the friction brake linings market, high-temperature insulation, loft insulation, various construction products, animal feeds, horticulture, and many other industrial applications.

When exfoliated, the mineral expands up to ten times its original volume, resulting in lightweight granules that possess excellent insulation properties. Vermiculite can be treated in a variety of manners to make it suitable for a wide variety of applications where fire resistance and thermal stability are essential. Also ideal for wood-burning stoves.
